Back To School!

Dear Colleague,

I hope that you and yours had a nice Labor Day weekend! Since 1894, our nation has honored and celebrated the economic and social contributions of our workforce on the first Monday in September each year. THANK YOU to our valued employees, peers, and colleagues that work hard every day and contribute to make our healthcare system the best in the world! Labor Day also marks the end of summer and the beginning of the next school season. My family, like so many others, has been focused recently on the annual ‘Back To School’ ritual with our kids. We have attended school orientations, purchased supplies, reviewed schedules and generally prepared our kids for the best start possible for the next year of school. This experience has reminded me of the increasing importance of continuing education and training in the workplace.

Whether it’s the pursuit of a college degree, professional licensure and certifications, or just ongoing professional development workshops and seminars, it’s very important for every worker to continue their learning at every stage of their career!

There are lots of options out there – both online and in traditional classrooms – that allow the flexibility needed to continue working while learning and expanding your knowledge within your chosen field. This is even more important in today’s economy where many employers have a plethora of candidates to choose from. Top professionals already know that ongoing job related training and education allows them to stand out among their competition when vying for the best positions.

In this edition of The Acclivity Health Report we’ve focused on the importance of continuing education and professional development and their many benefits for employees and employers. We hope you find this both informational and inspirational and cheers to your continuing education!

Keep growing,
