Creating an Efficient Workspace

Dear Readers,

Hello and welcome to the March edition of The Acclivity Health Report! For most people I talk to, 2016 has been a very busy year so far with seemingly more and more “to do’s” coming across our desks at a faster pace. With pressure to finish many different tasks quickly, many of us feel the necessity to “multitask”, and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. In today’s workplace, doing just one thing at a time seems like it’s just not very efficient.

On the contrary, however, many experts say that multitasking your way through the day is not nearly as efficient as most people think. Instead of multitasking your way through the day, you should consider prioritizing and organizing your desk so that you can first determine, and then tackle, the most important items first. Then manage your desk in the way that best fits you. This may mean creating time slots for certain tasks, writing to-do lists, and/or creating an organization system that fits your needs for your workload at your desk.

Regardless of what may work for your fellow coworkers, make sure you create a workspace that is efficient for you – and remember the power of FOCUS! You will complete your priorities in less time overall and with greater quality if you tackle them one at a time.

I hope you enjoy this edition of The Acclivity Health Report. Thanks for reading!
