Dear Readers,

The monsoon season has arrived here in Arizona, and I woke up last night to a loud clap of thunder and the drum of heavy rain. My mind raced for a few minutes as I went through my rainy weather mental checklist…Were all the windows up on the vehicles? Check. Storage shed closed? Check. Whew, everything seems to be in order and now I can try to go back to sleep.

This reminded me that preparation is important in nearly every aspect of our lives. Of course we all know of people who take this idea a little to the extreme in some areas, but when it comes to our career it is critically important to be prepared – always!

What if your company was sold tomorrow? What if your boss quit or was terminated? Even if you don’t face one of these major workplace issues, have you considered the less extreme scenarios that happen more often? Does your company have slow growth or no growth at all? Are you being trained, challenged, noticed? Is there room for advancement, more responsibility, more pay? If not, then it’s definitely time to start prepping. We have gathered some useful information in this issue of The Acclivity Health Report that should help our readers stay prepared.

Our first Ask the Experts article, The Job Interview Toolkit, discusses several tools and tips for presenting yourself in the best light in a job interview. Our second article, Hiring with Help from Aptitude Tests, helps hiring managers understand how these tests can be a helpful tool in selecting the employee who will be the best long term fit for their organization.

We hope you enjoy this issue of the Acclivity Health Report. Thanks for reading!
