Welcome to the May edition of The Acclivity Health Report! Many of us have been doing our best to react and adapt quickly to the “new normal” as we all continue to face different challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the stress and anxiety has been high we must balance the demands of family, friends, and work so that we can all try to settle back into a workable daily routine – easier said than done in many cases!

While we all work to find our new normal, we wanted to put a spotlight on and give out thanks to the brave men and women on the front lines of healthcare. In May, there are several significant events that are held in honor of the dedicated individuals who work in the healthcare industry. We see these heroes in action every day at Acclivity, so we wanted to help spread the word and recognize all the hard work and dedication these professionals bring to their jobs each and every day to help improve the health and lives of so many.

National Nurses Week was celebrated May 6th-12th to recognize the critically important role nurses play within the healthcare community every day, but especially since we have been fighting the COVID-19 outbreak. Since 1991, The American Nurses Association Board of Directors expanded the recognition of nurses to a week-long celebration. The final day of National Nurses Week, May 12th, is actually the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the English nurse who is known as the founder of professional nursing. In addition, National Hospital Week has been celebrated during the second week of the month of May since 1921. This year, we will recognize hospitals and the dedicated professionals who support the health and wellbeing of their communities from May 8th-May 14th. In light of extraordinary efforts of our Nurses and hospital staff this year in particular, the week was referred to as “A Week of Thanks”.

We hope our readers will join us and take time to show our appreciation for all of the dedicated workers who deserve recognition and respect for their compassion and commitment.

The team here at Acclivity Healthcare would like to say THANK YOU to all the professionals and volunteers that make our industry so great!

We hope you enjoy reading this edition of The Acclivity Health Report!
