This year, National Nurses Week, traditionally celebrated from May 6 to May 12 each year, is now a month-long celebration to expand opportunities to elevate and celebrate nursing. The month-long celebration is a time “to recognize the vast contributions and positive impact of America’s 4 million registered nurses,” according to the American Nurses Association.

Nurses are there when we are most vulnerable yet encourage us and give us strength. They are present at our lowest points: a difficult diagnosis, a painful treatment, the loss of a loved one, or losing our sense of hope.

Nurses share our triumphs as well: getting better, kicking cancer, our first unsteady steps after a hip replacement, the unabashed joy of welcoming a baby to the family. To all the nurses out there, a heart felt Thank you! from all of us at Acclivity Healthcare.
